Tight Oil Niobrara Congress 2012

With a 77-percent surge in oil production in the Rockies by 2016 predicted, the oil rich reserves of the Niobrara Shale have led operators to brand this promising play the 'NeoBakken'.

Despite this growth in activity, mixed results experienced by Operators have left unresolved questions on how to untap the liquids-rich potential of the Niobrara and make it a truly economic resource play.

The answer lies in overcoming the unique geological challenges and the variability of this complex play. Translating this geological understanding into completions success is crucial to maximise EURs, ensure long-term economic viability and unlock the full potential of the Niobrara.

The Tight Oil Niobrara Congress 2012 was the first Operator-led initiative dedicated solely to unlocking the full commercial potential of the Niobrara play. It provided an opportunity for Presidents, VPs, Directors, leading Geologists and Completions experts to join in discussions on overcoming the distinctive geological challenges of the play, and crucially how this can be translated into more consistent completions success benefiting all stakeholders.

Busy Conference Area

The Tight Oil Niobrara Congress 2013 examined how operators are integrating geological understanding to identify sweet spots, optimize completions techniques and maximize recovery rates for economic tight oil exploration and production in the Niobrara.

"Very informative, Great networking"

O&G Series

Top 5 Reasons To Attend:

  • Hear E&P Operators’ experience in the field at the only initiative that comprehensively addresses geology, completions and regulations in the Niobrara play
  • Share in the latest developments on translating geological understanding into effective completions strategies to provide more consistent recovery rates and enable expansion of the play
  • Receive analysis on production indicators in the prolific Wattenburg Field and  operator insights on how this knowledge can be utilized to commercially justify exploration across the expanse of the play
  • Join industry leaders to define the drivers of production success in the DJ basin and beyond to increase accuracy of ultimate recovery rates and guarantee economic viability of drilling and completions
  • Network with CEOs, VPs, Chief Geologists, Completions Managers, Drilling Engineers, alongside Regulators and Regional Experts both at the Congress and in the relaxed environment of the Gala Dinner to build relationships and  engage in mutually beneficial debate
